A stroll after dinner (part one)

After a hearty dinner at the restaurant last night, we were walking towards the carpark.

"Huh? 乜?" EggEgg pointed out to the loud music and flashing light on the second level of the community hall on the other side of the road. It seemed like some rowdy high school prom night.

"Oh, they are having a party. There's music and flashing lights for people to dance. Do you like dancing, EggEgg?"

"Um! Nana 要! (EggEgg wants to dance too!)"

I could see the big security guard standing at the door, arms akimbo. "Hmm... you can't dance there. It's only for big grown ups."

"Nana 大! (EggEgg is big!)"

"Haha. EggEgg is not big enough. You have to be as big as Daddy first before you can go there to dance."

EggEgg fell silent. We caught a glimpse of Tonton's silhouette in front of us. To all children, parents are such gigantic creatures. To wait for the day when they could grow up so big seemed so distant, such a long time. For parents, children grow up in a flash, we wish they could slow down.
