If EggEgg was a regular baby, then Cola must be an angel sent from heaven. (Or put it another way: if Cola is the regular baby, then EggEgg had given me hell.)
EggEgg is at pre-school today, and I am enjoying the rare moments with Cola. At home, it is difficult to have one-on-one time with the little baby. Just when Cola & I are about to click into a "magic moment", EggEgg would come dashing into the room, showing us another of his new discovery/frustrations/demands.
Fortunately, Cola is a really easy going baby.
When he was a newborn, he just slept through all the chaos, all the house-moving commotion and the house-warming celebrations. (In fact, during the house-warming party, he slept blissfully amid the noise from 2pm to 7pm in a long stretch, as if to give Mami time to take a break and enjoy the party).
At night, he just lie next to me, and slept for 13 hours till late morning.
In the first couple of months when EggEgg is still jealous of his little sibling, Cola does not fight for attention. Come nap time, we'll wrap him up, plug in a dummy, kiss and off he drifts into slumberland. EggEgg does not allow us any luxurious time for rocking or patting.
In this busy household, Cola drifts into sleep by chanting to himself. One evening, I had to rush out for an appointment. I put him down in his bouncer, and went off to change my clothes. As soon as I come back, I noticed that Cola's already fast asleep. Not a single cry!
There was another night when it took him merely 90 seconds to fall asleep, with tiny whispers of oooh, oooh, oooh. I have a recording of it as proof.
Today, we were at the shopping mall. He was in his stroller, happily looking at the shop lights and enjoying his ride. Then, he turned his head upwards, smiled at me. And smiled. And smiled. Satisfied with looking at me, he closed his eyes and fall asleep.
Cola's my angel. (And I thank God for sending him to me.)
