Our garden's been neglected this season. There's too many weeds to be pulled, seedlings to be transplanted, plants to be fertilized, we just haven't got time to finish it all.
Today, we are inspecting the sad looking veggie patch. EggEgg wanted to pull out a radish.
"哪哪要食蘿蔔 EggEgg wants to eat carrot." (Wow that's a 5-word sentence.)
"Ok, go pick the big one, twist it, and pull it out with strength."
EggEgg proudly show this precious harvest to Tonton and put it on the kitchen bench, waiting for somebody to cook it for dinner. The radish are so old that they've already bolted to seed. As soon as EggEgg turned around, I threw this soggy, lifeless veg into the garbage bin.
Then EggEgg proceeded to the lemon tree. Yesterday I told him not to pick any more, coz there's till unused ones inside the house. Today, EggEgg checked with me before picking.
"污茄無檬檬? No lemons in the house?"
"Yup, there are no lemons in the house. Today you may pick a few."
He insisted on picking the small cute green ones. No, I taught him that he should choose the biggest, yellow ripe ones. Twist and pull. He picked 3 lemons: one for EggEgg, one for Mami and one for Daddy. Baby? No, baby doesn't eat lemons.
