I say, Silence!

My lovely old friend Joyce came to visit me in Sydney this week. It's been 10 years since she was last here for my university graduation. We have both moved on since then: she'd married, bore 2 sons, retired young and travelled the world.

Last night, Joyce offered to tend to Cola while I take a shower before bedtime. As I stepped out of the shower, I could hear Cola crying loudly in the background. Joyce was saying to him,
"Shhh... baby. Quiet... quiet... quiet!!"
"Silence! I say Silence!!"
"Baby shut up!!"

I was laughing out loud, because you see, Joyce used to be a primary school teacher some 20 years ago in my alma mater. Obviously, Time doesn't change certain habits!

Now, whenever EggEgg fusses in the car, Tonton and I would say, "Silence! I say Silence!!"
