Last day of school

On this last day of school.  Cola bids farewell to his preschool, EggEgg finishes Year 1.

I woke up late on purpose (disabled the alarm clock altogether last night), slapped together the simplest pear jam on gluten free toast, with a boiled egg and yesterdays leftover cut fruits for their lunch box. EggEgg carried two boxes of chocolates for his favourite people: one for his teacher Mrs Rochow and the other for the dear lollypop lady who chats with him every afternoon as he waits for my pickup. Cola and Bobo arrived school 40 minutes late. Who cares?

I enjoyed my last child free day of the year 2013 with a 2 hour long brunch in Petersham with a good friend Cindy, taking a smiling Ladder on my lap all day long. We stopped by the pet store to buy two more baby chicks and more chick feed.

But Tonton had outdone me in the holiday mode. He woke up at 10am, had potato chips and coke for brunch, skipped lunch altogether, went online and played Age of Mythology for 11 hours straight. By 8pm he refused to cook dinner and had me make quick sushi instead.

Dinner was at 9pm. Then Tonton had even more computer games and a cheesecake to boot until 2am.  This is quite a way to kick start this lazy summer holiday.

In comparison to the last two years, which was spent painting the rumpus and doing DIY, this is our first xmas break in years...
