Magical moments

The final week of EggEgg being in Year 1.

What happened this entire year? I am not quite sure.

This morning, the car is packed with all the kids. Cola and Bobo are looking forward to making some muffin at home after dropping off EggEgg. They always want to be in the car for the drop off, even though its only a 5 minute ride.

Ladder is staring at the mobile above his head, the colorful birds and tingling bells always keep him quiet on car trips.

I stopped the car at the usual spot, 10 meters away from the "lolly pop lady", our well acquainted pedestrian crossing helper. She finds EggEgg very polite and charming to chat to, as I am always late for the afternoon pick ups.

As EggEgg crossed the street, he turned to me and gave me a shy wave, as if slightly embarrassed by the gesture. He's still a very shy boy, even though he's immensely popular at school. There's a girl who wrote him a xmas card this year and added a line, "Don't be bad, fluffy!" I asked Egg what fluffy meant, he said that's his nickname, with a blush.

Bobo's favourite CD is on. "The quacker in my tender, he's very very tame. He quacks all night and through the day, he's driving me insane..." Ah, one of my favourite Thomas the Tank engine songs, about a  duck who lives inside one of the trains. Singing that particular song always bring me a smile.

And speaking of ducks, my 3 week old duckling is growing at an incredible rate, he's no longer yellow, but tall and shy, always hiding in the bush, acting like a big mama to all the little chicks around it.
