Happiness is...

In autumn, happiness is

... hearing the autumn leave crunches as you stomped around on the fallen leaves.

... collecting leaves and branches happily, feeding them to the chickens, firing them off as arrows, and spreading the mess all around the garden.

... ducking under the hedges as I gather acorn "bombs" and launching them at you.  "Look here! Incoming bomb!"  You are so short that you could easily hide under the hedges.

... knowing that you could finally put on the left and right shoes properly;
... but still put on your pants in reverse. "That's wrong Cola." "Why? The pockets are in front."  "Those are bum pockets."

... seeing the sun rays put a delightful sparkle in your eyes and dancing merrily on your hair as we picnic in the park.

... holding the round basket precariously to help me collect warm eggs from the chicken coop. That was the very same basket you held when you took your first steps 2 years ago while collecting tomatoes.

I love you, my boy, Cola, more than you will ever know.
