Mid-autumn festival

Every year, around this time, there's a special day for me. It's the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival (a parallel of the Autumn Equinox), where some 30 years ago I was born on under the fullest moon of the year. EggEgg was a special baby too, coz he was also born under the full moon. My mum has always commented that we full moon children are the intelligent lot. Heehee. I'd just take her word for it.

2 years ago, on this very day, I made a heart-thumping, significant long distance phone call to mum. "Mum," I said, "you are going to have a grand child soon." My mum was stunned and the only response she could make was, "But you're not married yet! But you're not married yet!". The rest of our telephone conversation revolves around repeating this same line. I only found out a couple of days later from my other family members that she was ecstatic and proud to have a grand son just as well. Whew, that's a relief!

This year, EggEgg is 1 and a half years old. He recently read a story book where there is a lamb sleeping under a moon. MOON! We taught him. And after every dinner, he would open up that page, point to the moon, and demand that we take him outside to have a look at Mr Moon. We'd all set off to the driveway to wonder at the bright moon and the stars. I think Tonton is secretly proud of this little fella too.
