5/9/16 Bobo the gardener

We saw a spiderweb. "Mami, I know the spider is a good guy, cos it uses the web to catch the bad guys."
"Good thinking Bobo". Seeing that he's turned into quite a logical thinking botanist these days.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We saw a butterfly fluttering around our blackberries.
"Look mami, a butterfly!" Bobo exclaimed. "I know butterflies are the good guys because when they touch the flowers, the flowers will turn in to a fruit. But the caterpillars are the bad guys because they eat the leaves.  So, the butterfly is first bad, then turned into good!"
I am clearly impressed, "Wow. Who taught you that?"
"I invented it myself" Bobo has always confused the word "discovered (fat yin)" and "invent (fat ming)".
"Haha.. yes bad guy. Just like you, bad bad Bobo!" I teased.
"Yes last time I was a bad guy too. Then I become a good guy again, so I am like a butterfly!"
(Last year there was a time he was very naughty, lies, breaking things, throwing medicine. But he's reformed.  I am surprised he still remembered it.)
"Yes you are a good guy now like butterfly."
"I am also a butterfly!" Ladder chimed in.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Bobo can now read a few words. He pointed to the tag on the blackberry and ask, "What does it say here?"
I read out for him, "It says Blackberry Waldo."
"What is Waldo?"
"Oh it's just the name of the Blackberry. There are many different types of blackberries and they all have different names."
"Hmm... like can we have a Blackberry Lau?"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Mami I want a big flower from there!" Bobo pointed to the huge camellia hanging over the neighbour's' fence.
I pointed out the long stigma and asked, "Do you know what the yellow bits are?"
"I know. They are for the bees to eat."
"Yes, when the bees touch the pollen, the flower also becomes a fruit."
Bobo is puzzled.  "So are Bees good guys or bad guys? They eat the flower.  So they are helping AND not helping?"
"Don't worry, the flower produces the pollen for the bees to eat. They help each other."
