One day, Egg Egg decided to step inside the wardrobe. He closed the sliding door and waited a bit inside. Then, voila! There he came out on the other side, like magic! Squinting his eyes, squealing with joy, he clapped his hands awkwardly to thank us, his audience for watching his magic show. He went back into the wardrobe and repeated this hiding-reappearing act over and over again, each time more delighted than before. It's such a pleasure to see him so happy with performing this seemingly amazing trick.

Today, as I was holding Cola with one hand, EggEgg decided to climb into the sofa to snuggle next to us. He placed one of his favorite toy on the floor -- a little Christmas tree which would blink and sing -- and with a quiet fascination, Egg Egg watched it sway to and fro. He wrapped himself around my arms, totally mesmerized.
Rockin' around the Christmas tree
At the Christmas party hop,
Mistletoe hung where you can see,
Every couple tries to stop.
Rockin' around the Christmas tree,
Let the Christmas spirit ring,
Later we'll have some pumpkin pie,
And we'll do some caroling!
You will get a sentimental feeling when you hear,
Voices singing, "Let's be jolly,
Deck the halls with boughs of holly!"
Rockin' around the Christmas tree,
Have a happy holiday,
Everyone dancin' merrily,
In the new old-fashioned way.
Each time the singing stops, he leapt off to press the button, climbed back into the sofa and re-wrapped himself around my arms again. There I see him, lying on his tummy with legs lazily kicking the air, like a happy puppy wagging its tail. After a while, I realized my sleeve is all wet with his drool.
I love this innocence and I hope it can last for as long as possible. The way how William Wordsworth described it:

My heart leaps up when I behold
A rainbow in the sky:
So was it when my life began,
So is it now I am a man,
So be it when I shall grow old
Or let me die!
The child is father of the man:
And I could wish my days to be
Bound each to each by natural piety.
