Back home, I was busy on amazon.com trying to order some new skates, skate guards and bags. Bobo could feel the excitement too. He asked if he can come to a session and watch us from the benches.
"No Bobo, I'm on the ice with Cola. There is no one to watch over you. Bad people may come and snatch you away."
"Where are the bad people? Where do bad people come from? 邊道有壞人?" Bobo is intrigued.
"I dont know. They could come from anywhere!"
Today Bobo hang around by my side as usual. "Mami, will you buy a pair of ice skates for me? I want the white color."
"Aiya, you are too small. 你太細粒!They dont make ice skates for such small feet. Later, when you are bigger I will take you ice skating too. Only 4 year olds can start to learn how to skate."
"咁..." He thinks hard, knotting his eyebrows and puffing up his cheeks to a comical effect.
"Actually... 其實..." (The word "actually" is used frequently in in correct context by Bobo, a prefix used whenever he attempts to ask an intellient question)
"我點先會變大個仔? How do i grow bigger?"
Tonton and i burst into laugher by the earnest look on his face.
It's my turn to tease him. 3 year olds are such fun.
"I know! When you kiss me, here, you will grow bigger instantly. Wanna try?"
I turn my cheeks towards him.
He gave me a light kiss.
"Ah, see you are bigger already. Can u feel it? Want to be even bigger? Here, kiss some more."
And he kissed again. And again. And again.
"Wow! You are so big now!"
We both giggled. I love how his eyes curl into a moon shape and his cheeks puff up whenever he smiles.
Diane, my friend, once observed, "佢個臉有個腮!" (That's the equivalent of, "His cheeks are so fat they puff up like the gills of a puffer fish!")
