A celebration of everyday moments with my beloved Tonton and 4 boys. A record about the ups and downs of motherhood. The writings are at times pensive, at times joyous; but mostly, tender outpourings direct from the heart.

My Valentine
On this Valentine's Day-
My valentine did not buy me roses so that I could post them on Facebook,
Nor did he take me out for a candle light dinner with lobsters or fine wine.
My valentine never buy me any perfume, jewellery or fancy little trinkets...
But-
My valentine chose to work from home on the day so that he could pick up the children from school.
A thoughtful gift of rest and respite from the ferocious summer heat.
My valentine stocked up meat and veggies from the local supermarket,
quietly, unprompted, to save me a laborious trip.
My valentine never questioned me on any of my online shopping,
saying 'as long as you like it'.
My valentine fixed my water pump for me
so that I could water my precious veggie garden,
And as soon as I mentioned, 'I feel like a curry dinner tonight'
my valentine immediately gets into cooking a feast.
My valentine never complained about the books I read into the night,
with the light shinning glaringly bright in his direction.
My valentine loves me gently without any grand gestures,
with immense patience for my explosive outbursts.
My valentine supports unequivocally me in all my crazy latest endeavours,
never asked for a share of the limelight when I succeed,
and catches me when I fall.
Thank you, I know you love me so.
When I watched you sleep last night,
I know,
you are
the love of my life.
