13 years of drifting from house to house, moving home once every 18 months.
This is the chain of events that led me finally settle here in our very own home.
2000: If Tonton had found employment after he graduated, then we wouldn't have to move back to Hong Kong to live.
2002: If my landlady hadn't cheated my rent and her debt-collectors hadn't harrassed me in HongKong, then I wouldn't have been depressed enough to move back to Sydney.
2004: If the thieves hadn't broke into our car and stole our new road bike in our 2 bedroom Artarmon apartment, then we wouldn't have been scared enough to move.
2004: If we hadn't been so sick since we lived here in Lane Cove, then we wouldn't have seeked out a lovely Marsfield townhouse.
2008: If the landlord hadn't decided to sell his townhouse when I was 40 weeks pregnant, then we wouldn't have to moved to a Carlingford 3-bedroom house.
2009: If the mold from the house hadn't cause EggEgg's asthma to worsen, then we wouldn't have the motivation to inspect 56 open houses.
2010: If our offer at Cheerybrook villa hadn't been turned down, and if our Beecroft house hasn't been on the main road for the price to be affordable, and if I hadn't been so upset and tired with house hunting, and a million ifs...
then we wouldn't have put our act together, put down our life's savings and took a plunge in buying this wonderful 4-bedroom house in Beecroft.
Truly it's fate. Won't you believe in Determinism too?
