A week later, Tonton mentioned that the toilet rolls have been running out fairly quickly lately. EggEgg is competent with wiping his own butt after each poo-poo, but we suspect that he's beginning to make a sloppy job of using the tissue paper carefully.
So it's time for another environmental-protection/money-saving lecture.
"EggEgg, come over here. Look at this toilet roll. Did you pull hard and uses up a long piece of tissue after you poo poo today?"
EggEgg fell silent and did not answer my question.
"You know, toilet roll cost money too."
EggEgg showed genuine surprise.
"Cost money like the lights?"
"What lights?" Clearly, I am the one with the short-memory. He still remembered my last lecture.
"Lights! Mami said lights cost money."
"Why, yes! You remembered well. And same with tissue rolls too. Where do we buy them there's no more?"
"At the supermarket."
"And every time we buy them, we uses Daddy's money to pay. If you uses tissue carelessly, then the tissue finishes very quickly and we have to keep buying and buying and buying and spend all our money in buying tissue rolls." (Ha, a lifetime of slavery in the office cubicle in exchange for tissue rolls. What a horrible idea!)
And to drill this concept in... "If we keep spending money on tissue, there won't be enough for buying other things like scooters, bubble machines, bikes."
"and saving money to the Wiggles World"
"... yes. And Wiggles World." (I think we have zero chance of NOT going to Gold Coast for holiday next year, at the rate he keeps reminding us.)
Just for a final test of comprehension. "So, what's the proper way of using tissue rolls?"
"I need to slowly tear 2 squares each time."
"That's my good boy."
