"Tomorrow's Saturday, Daddy doesn't need to go to work. He can play with us at home."
How we love to lie on the bed side by side and look forward to tomorrow's activity. It brings warm hope, and perhaps even a good night's dream?
"爸爸無斑共. 娜娜要夾餅哪! Daddy doesn't need to work? EggEgg wants to eat waffles for breakfast!" Heehee... seems like weekend waffles has become part of our routine now.
"Are you sure you want waffles? Or would you like muffins instead?"
At this moment, baby Cola has begun to cry. He stood up his cot, hands on the rails, demanding me to stay with him for a while too! So I climbed back into the cot to gently pat him as he squirm and rub his eyes on my legs.
From across the room, EggEgg suggested, "媽咪, 老虎比Baby. Mami, Mr Tiger give to baby."
Huh? Mr Tiger? That's EggEgg's favourite sleeping buddy. He loves Mr Tiger dearly, takes him on plane trips, plays with him first thing in the morning, holds tea parties and sleeps with him every night.
He repeated. "老虎比Baby."
"Thank you, EggEgg. Don't worry, Baby's fine. He's got Mr Banana to sleep with."
But EggEgg seemed to know better. "Baby 鐘意老虎啊. Oh, Baby loves Mr Tiger." To show his sincerity, he got out of bed, walked across the room and tossed Mr Tiger into the cot.
I was moved by EggEgg's magnanimous gesture. My friend Amanda once reminded me, "See? This is the kind of kid that's worth the labour pains."
