Boy oh boy...
I've reached the 100th hour of feeding, it's beginning to get on my nerves. I've been wondering how come the nipples doesn't just shrivel up and drop off? Normally if you've been sucking at
your own thumb for 8 hours a day for 2 weeks, your thumb should break too... So, perhaps all breastfeeding mothers have "Nipples of Steel"!! Bravo!!
Tonton & I are alternating between "days on" and "days off". On good days when EggEgg sleeps well, Tonton gets a well deserved rest, and I'll go around doing heaps of housework, yes I do washing and cleaning too, contrary to popular belief!! On bad days, Grandpa Monkey fuss all day, Jappy gets no sleep all night and Tonton has to do all the cooking and cleaning.
There's only 1 more week of grace period left before Tonton has to go back to work. I'm getting pretty good with one-hand eating, peeing, feeding, etc. Guess one won't feel so sad about it if you consider how much worse the handicapped people are out there. At least my condition is not permanent.
Last night was bad, I had an all nighter from 00:00 to 06:30, even the cheery Jappy is getting teary in the morning. Tonight, it is good. EggEgg's sleeping now, and it's ONLY 5:00, so I'll have about an hour to sleep before the next feed. (Plus, I'm getting some email done too! Hurray!!)
New trick I've learned today: FEED, FEED, FEED. It makes a baby very drowsy. 9 feeds today, haha... I deserve a pat on my back. No wonder why those rich Chinamen are now paying lots for wet nurses.
2 days ago, the community nurse came by and weight EggEgg, he's lost 5 grams more since leaving the hospital. So the nurse wasn't very happy about it and wanted to re-weight him by next Tuesday, plus leaving behind lots of ominous warnings. So, during the next couple of feeds, I've been passing subconscious messages to the Grandpa Monkey, "You are very hungry... very hungry... very hungry...", or "Drink more, or else you'll be sent to the orphanage by the nurse..." Boy it does work. Haha...
Hmm... better get some essential sleep now. You never know what a new day might bring: will it be good today? Will it be bad today?
